A Strata report reveals the construction and engineering sector is accelerating digital adoption, driven by demands for efficiency amid housing delivery targets and sustainability goals. Nearly 90% of professionals have increased their use of digital technologies. However, the industry faces hurdles: siloed workflows, labour shortages, and skills gaps are impeding progress. While 71% believe AI is critical, over 80% have limited understanding, and most lack formal AI training. Sustainability faces similar challenges; 85% see it as increasingly important, but only 5% are making significant progress using digital tools.
