GRAHAM appointed to £49.6m infrastructure framework at Low-Level Waste Respository

GRAHAM has secured a significant £49.6 million Integrated Site Works Framework (ISWF) contract with Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) for the Low-Level Waste Repository in Cumbria. This four-year agreement underscores the critical importance of maintaining and upgrading specialist infrastructure within the UK's nuclear waste management sector. The framework's scope is comprehensive, encompassing the replacement and enhancement of ageing critical infrastructure, extensive demolition and remediation efforts, and the installation of new operational systems vital for the Repository's long-term functionality. This appointment builds upon GRAHAM's existing engagement at the site, notably the Southern Trench Cap Interim Membrane (STIM) project, signalling a deepened strategic partnership with NWS aimed at optimising site utility and ensuring stringent safety and compliance standards. According to Alastair Lewis, GRAHAM's Contracts Director, the collaboration is focused on delivering high-quality, future-proofed operational solutions.
