The International Access and Scaffolding Association (IASA) has been formally established, uniting major national scaffolding bodies, including the UK’s NASC, to professionalise and standardise the global access sector. Launched at the ScaffEx25 conference, IASA represents a significant strategic alignment for an industry critical to global construction and infrastructure. For senior decision-makers, this initiative offers tangible benefits in risk management and operational efficiency. IASA’s commitment to aligning global standards, promoting best practices, and enhancing safety and training protocols is expected to streamline project execution across international borders, reduce regulatory complexities, and mitigate operational risks. Crucially, the association’s focus on developing global talent pipelines and standardising training aims to improve workforce mobility and address skill shortages, thereby optimising resource deployment on large-scale projects. By actively working to improve the industry’s image and drive innovation, IASA seeks to elevate scaffolding's recognised value as a vital enabler of complex construction, potentially attracting further investment and talent into this essential segment of the built environment. This concerted effort fortifies the sector’s operational integrity and strategic importance worldwide. Read More
