TU Dublin to deliver 600 new apprenticeship training places in major expansion
Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is set to significantly expand its apprenticeship training capacity, leveraging a €5.73m grant from Ireland's Apprenticeship Expansion Programme 2024. The funding, part of a larger €20.5m national initiative, will enable TU Dublin to create 600 new apprenticeship places across its Bolton Street, Tallaght, and Blanchardstown campuses. The university will bolster its Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship to address regional demand and capacity gaps. Tallaght campus will see a doubling of refrigeration and air conditioning apprenticeship capacity, crucial for the construction, logistics and data centre sectors, and a substantial increase in electrical apprenticeship provision. Investment in advanced equipment will enhance the industrial electrical engineering apprenticeship, ensuring trainees are proficient in automation and digital technologies. Blanchardstown will expand its plumbing apprenticeship programme. These expansions are strategically aligned with national skills requirements and growing industry demand, particularly in carpentry and wood manufacturing. Read More
