The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) has successfully reintroduced its National Site Awards for 2024, marking the return of a significant industry benchmark after a four-year hiatus. Relaunched across six ceremonies nationwide, these prestigious awards, initially established in 1998, are pivotal in recognising and promoting exemplary practices that significantly enhance construction's public image and operational standards. From over 5,500 eligible projects, the Scheme bestowed 522 Bronze, 121 Silver, and 66 Gold Awards, with five projects achieving the pinnacle 'Most Considerate Site of 2024' accolade, signifying the absolute peak of performance. The awards rigorously evaluate site performance against the CCS’s Code of Considerate Practice, independently assessed by monitors on critical criteria encompassing respect for the local community, diligent care for the environment, and robust valuing of the workforce. This stringent process ensures only the highest-performing sites, segmented by project value for equitable competition, receive recognition. The Scheme also acknowledged 'Ultra Sites,' representing the most demanding commitment to considerate construction. Senior decision-makers within the sector should interpret these awards as a clear indicator of evolving industry best practice, driving continuous improvement in responsible development and fostering a more positive perception of construction across the UK, a sentiment echoed by the Rt. Hon. Lee Rowley MP. Read More
