Dublin – Ireland's construction sector faces a critical challenge to its future workforce pipeline, as the Connect Trade Union launches a campaign addressing systemic issues within craft apprenticeships. The union highlights that apprentices, who are vital for housing delivery and broader economic expansion, are frequently subjected to pay below the statutory minimum wage, prolonged delays in accessing essential college-based training, and exploitation by certain employers.
