Heron Bros. has secured two prestigious finalist nominations in the Chartered Institute of Building’s (CIOB) 2021 Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA), signalling strong performance in project delivery and talent management within the UK construction sector. This dual recognition places the firm among industry leaders in categories critical for strategic development.
Fergus Brown, Associate Director of Contracts, is a finalist in the 'Schools over £20 million' category. His nomination acknowledges leadership on the £24 million East Renfrewshire Council Early Learning Expansion 2020, a five-project framework delivering state-of-the-art educational facilities. This highlights expertise in large-scale public sector infrastructure.
Concurrently, the Belfast Leisure Transformation Project Team achieved finalist status in the 'Team of the Year' category. This £105 million investment by Belfast City Council involved the successful delivery of major leisure centres, showcasing complex project management, innovation, and client collaboration. Operations Director Keith Farren underscored the team's commitment to stakeholder engagement.
CIOB Chief Executive Caroline Gumble noted that the CMYA serves as a "barometer for management talent," celebrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and collaborative working.
